He Was Actually Useful.

Donald Trump actually taught me a new word today.  Emergy.

Just As Well.

I haven't been watching the Winter Olympics, but I've been paying attention to the medal count.  At the time of this writing Norway is in first place with 29 medals.  Canada is third with 19.  The US?  They're in sixth place with 12.  Apparently Donald Trump isn't paying attention, since he hasn't Tweeted about it.  Which is just as well, as he'd probably go on a rant about how other countries are somehow cheating, things are stacked against the US and on and on.  After all the greatest country ever should be winning all the medals.

Buzzed.

As you may have heard there was a claim recently that Donald Trump drinks up to a 12 pack of Diet Coke a day.  That's a lot of caffeine.  How much?  Online sources, including Coca Cola itself, state Diet Coke contains 46 milligrams of caffeine per 355 millilitres/12 ounces.(Oddly standard Coke and Coke Zero only contain 34 milligrams a can.)  So 12 cans would contain 552 milligrams of caffeine.  Trump supposedly drinks little or no coffee, but that's still a lot of caffeine.

Health Canada suggests the average adult can consume 400 milligrams of caffeine without adverse effects, but suggests not exceeding that limit.  But even that presumably will give most of us a good buzz.  Trump drinks perhaps 150 milligrams more than that.  So there might be a good reason he tweets a lot in the early morning.  The caffeine keeps him awake.

No Endorsement Offer Forthcoming.

It was reported over the weekend that Donald Trump, along with his already known overfondness for McDonalds food, drinks as much as a 12 pack of Diet Coke daily.  That's a lot of caffeine a day, which might explain his early morning Twitter blasts.  He probably doesn't sleep much, and might be edgy at times.  It's probably worse if he drinks any amount of coffee.  He probably has to make a lot of trips to the bathroom as well.

Even if he wasn't as unpopular as he is I doubt Coca Cola would be offering him an endorsement offer.  "The Drink of Presidents" might work if he drank a can or two a day, but not a dozen.

Lost In Translation.

Chances are that if you're reading this blog your first language, or primary language, is English.  It's written in English, so not surprisingly most visitors come from English speaking places and/or mainly speak English in their daily lives.  And chances are you've had a problem understanding what Donald Trump has said at least once, since his style of speaking can be unclear and repetitive.  Now just imagine what it's like translating Trumpspeak into other languages.  According to this article it is in fact quite the problem.   Some of his statements come out as impossible to understand if you translate them too literally, yet not doing so may not mirror the fact they're confusing in English as well.  He just doesn't speak in the way US politicians generally have spoken.  I'm glad I don't have to translate his rambling.

Don't Get Too Near.

If you're anywhere near the White House it might be a good idea to move away some.  The way things have been going in the last few days I wouldn't be surprised if a black hole appears and sucks the Trump Administration into oblivion.  The phrase "crash and burn" really doesn't cover it.  If President Trump is really unlucky he'll be forced to resign before reaching his 31st day in office, which would make his time in the office shorter than William Henry Harrison's.  Harrison died only 31 days after taking office.

One More Long Week.

Just one more week and the seemingly endless US election campaign will be over.  Unfortunately the aftermath may be pretty awful.  The rhetoric from Trump and his surrogates could lead to some violence if he loses.  If he wins I suspect it will be a complete mess, and I still suspect Trump won't last long as President one way or another.

And I'm just an observer from another country.  Imagine how long it's seemed if you live in the US.

Donald Trump's Theme Song.

If this isn't his theme song, it should be.  Not that Trump would probably get that it's supposed to be sarcastic and self-deprecating.

Ted Quits.

Too bad he couldn't drag The Donald away with him.

(And in case you visit, no, Ted, I'm not giving you a tag.)

Shameless Using The Shameless.

Blog traffic has been down lately.  Perhaps the kind of people who come across this blog are on their winter vacations.  After considering this another factor came to mind.  I've been remiss in mentioning Donald Trump.  After all Donald Trump is the most important man in the Universe.  Just ask Donald Trump.(I'm sure someone will be disappointed that writing his name 3 times didn't make him appear in my room, like Beetlejuice.)  But what could I write that would distinguish my post from the zillions of other Donald Trump posts?  I could claim something like "Donald Trump wants to ban pancakes."  But that would make me a big fat liar, just like Donald Trump.

In all seriousness, you are a big dumb dumbdumb if you vote for Donald Trump.

Donald Trump, if you are reading this, no, I will not write a bunch of posts about you.  Even if you offer me lots of money.  Well, okay, maybe if it's no strings attached.  Like that would happen.

And to my surprise I actually have a Donald Trump tag. That should make The Donald happy..

This episode of Shameless Hit Mongering is brought to you by the letter D.  And the letter T.

Trump's Greatest Trump?

Donald Trump announced this week he is thinking about running for US President in 2012.  If I were his potential competitors I'd be quaking in my boots given the financial resources he can bring to a campaign without having to solicit donations.  On the other hand if Trump did take the office he'd find running a country is quite different from being a coporate magnate.  You just can't say "You're fired!" to Congress if things don't go your way.  And what about that hair of his?  Do Americans really want a President who looks like he's got a dyed skunk's tail on his head?

Slow News Day?

That's the only explaination I can come up with for the amount of attention the "feud" between Rosie O'Donnell and Donald Trump generated today. Even the CBC had a link to it on the main page of their website. Surely if they wanted to present an ultimately meaningless fluff story they could have found a Canadian entertainment story, or something cute involving animals. Sometimes you have to wonder if things like this aren't staged. After all Trump never is one to shy from publicity, and what better way to up the ratings for The View than a loud but ultimately safe verbal tussle.
