Snow Again.

Ugh.  I woke up this morning to find it's snowing.  The forecast says we might get up to five centimeters.  Conditions aren't likely to be as bad as some of you further east in North America have seen, and the high will be above freezing.  But it's still snow.  I'd really like some proper April conditions before the month is gone.

Get Used To It.

There's snow on the ground in Saskatoon this morning.  Don't like it?  Tough.  There's the possibility of more snow over the next few days, and the 7 day forecast shows no chance of above freezing temperatures.  So that white stuff won't be going anywhere, except to wherever it is that you shovel it.  And we may see another polar vortex this year, so it may be a good while before we get a warm weather break.

Last Holdouts.

This morning I actually saw some snow.  It was a patch a couple of feet long and a half foot tall, hidden  in a shaded area that likely gets no sun.  There are presumably other such holdouts still present despite the recent warm weather, stubbornly trying to beat the fate of all snow in Saskatoon, melting. 

It will not win.

Shovelling.

Context is so often everything. In the winter I don't like shovelling snow. In the spring I do, and miss it once it's all gone. This of course has to do with the fact that when I've shovelling it in spring it's to help it to melt faster, versus the winter when it's just to get it out of the way so people can use the sidewalks. A much more positive result for the former. It's also good exercise, which I can with more of these days.
