Tax Return Away.

I just submitted my 2019 Canadian income tax return to the Canada Revenue Agency.  I have never sent it out this early.  Today was literally the first day for this tax season you could submit it electronically.  I actually tried to send it in after 12 AM Eastern last night, but no dice.  Perhaps it was set up to only become active after it became Monday in BC.  As usual the deadline for most people submitting their tax return is midnight, April 30, which is a Thursday this year.

Done Early.

I actually managed to get my 2018 income tax return done this morning.  Usually I do it a couple of days before the deadline.  Hopefully if I actually get a carbon tax refund from it the cheque will appear by early May as a result.

Tax Time!

Don't forget that tomorrow at midnight is the deadline for submitting many Canadian tax returns.  I did mine so I don't have to worry anymore.  Hopefully if you have a complex return you've done it already, especially if you use a professional service to prepare it.  I would imagine they'll be pretty busy tomorrow.

Next Year Will Be Different! (Yeah, Right.)

In a couple of days it will be the deadline for many Canadians to submit their 2016 income tax return.  I just did mine.  Even though mine is simple I still waited until today to do it.  Every year I say around February or so that I'll do it early this year.  But of course I don't.  So I probably shouldn't bother saying so next year.

But I probably will.

Get Filling Those Forms!

In case you've forgotten it's tax time in Canada.  The deadline for most of us is midnight tonight.  They even gave us an extra two days this year, since April 30 was a Saturday.  So if you haven't done so  yet, you'd better break out the forms and get scribbling.

Just A Little Extra.

If you're really into filing your tax return late this will make you happy.  Due to an error at the Canada Revenue Agency the deadline for filing tax returns has been moved to May 5th.  Of course if you'd done your taxes weeks ago you wouldn't have worried about the deadline in the first place.

You'd Better Not Forget.

It's just a few days until the deadline for Canadian tax returns for 2014, unless of course you file more than yearly.  So make sure you get it done.  You don't want to piss off Mr. Wilson and Mr. Heath, especially since they're dead.

Don't Panic, There's Still Time.

It's possible you've forgotten, but if you're a Canadian there's a good chance you need to file your income tax by midnight, April 30th.  Which is tomorrow.  So you'd better get to work if you haven't prepared your tax return.  Fortunately if you're e-filing you won't have to worry about running out to the post office, or the box in front of your local Revenue Canada office, late tomorrow night.  Isn't modern technology cool?

Don't Forget...

...that if you file a yearly tax return in Canada April 30 is the deadline.  Yep, once more you have to go through all the bother of figuring out what you owe the government, or hopefully what the government owes you.  Of course if you were smart you would have filled out your return weeks ago.

A reminder to Canadians.  For a large number of you tomorrow at midnight is the deadline to file your 2011 tax return.  So, if you haven't done your return you'd best do it today.  Too bad if you have a complicated one.

Just In Case You Forgot.

Since we've got an election going on here in Canada you may have forgotten.  So here's a reminder.  Saturday, April 30th is the deadline to file your Canadian income tax return for 2010.  Yep, less than a week away.  Kind of appropriate that the election is May 2nd, since how you vote will decide who gets to spend your contribution to government revenue.

I probably don't need to remind anyone, but you never know. Don't forget that the deadline for many Canadians to file their income tax returns is midnight on Monday. Normally it would be April 30th, but since that falls on a Sunday they've moved it to May 1st. After all we can't have government workers actually doing something on a Sunday. I just know I screwed mine up this year, so if this blog suddenly disappears you'll know its because the Canadian Revenue Agency has busted me. If you're an American who hasn't filed your return yet what preytell is your problem? You were supposed to get it in by the 15th of this month. Bad luck for you if you didn't.
