No, a straight is not better than a flush.
I just saw someone on Pokerstars who apparently thought a straight was better than a flush. I really hope he was kidding. At least he was playing in a freeroll, with no money needed to participate. Better yet it was an Omaha Hi/Lo tournament, and Hi/Lo is one of the more complicated forms of poker.
