Gas In Saskatoon, March 27, 2009.

No surprise this week. The price of oil is creeping up, so up goes the price of gas. Gas in Saskatoon is currently 95.9 cents a litre. I will not be at all surprised if it passes a buck a litre before the end of April, if not much sooner.

It seems to be difficult to determine what the price will be on any given day. Crude up or down seems to have no impact. The Canadian dollar up or down seems to have no impact. OPEC threats of cutting back production indeed seems to have an impact. The news of potential crude shortages seems to have an impact. Potential war outbreak has impact even if it is a lost soldier wondering lost in any middle east nation....has impact. Threats of crude shortages seems to be the driver even when no real shortage is present at all.

Today March 31st I noticed Gas Plus dropped the street price to 90.9 while others are at 95.9

....What gives anyway....glad to have the cheap price thats 5 cents a litre but as a consumer I cannot figure it out nor predict what will happen.
